CAUSSE MEETINGS

Actress and artist, Helena Soubeyrand approaches both movement and drawing with the same passion. Discover her talent and her work through this portrait.

What does Maison Causse represent to you?

Maison Causse evokes for me a love of French craftsmanship — work carried out with passion and care, savoir-faire, and the transmission of values.

I was very happy to do the photos in the courtyard of my studio in Bastille, a former furniture factory that has stood the test of time. I chose a classic, timeless pair of gloves in a hypnotic emerald green: the Victoria model.

Where does your passion for drawing come from?

My great-grandfather, who was a miner, used to put on theater performances for his village and drew all the posters. Both of my grandfathers drew a lot, and my first drawings were with them. I still have their pastels, which I cherish deeply.

We did not come from a world where it was conceivable to make a living from art. I feel grateful every day, and I think they would be very happy for me.
