Ex-Libris & Causse

Causse invites you to discover Ex-Libris, a French illustration House, founded by Lauren Easum and Igor Telinge, specializing in the creation of hand-drawn bookplates, coats of arms, monograms and emblems.
Inspired by Causse's heritage and the beauty of its craftsmanship, Lauren Easum has created an exclusive coat of arms, in which every symbol pays tribute to our artisanal savoir-faire.

The coat of arms designed for Causse

At the top of the coat of arms appears Causse's founding date, surrounded by four emblematic symbols. At its heart is the hand: the one adorned by the glove, but also the artisan's hand, which shapes each creation with precision. In keeping with heraldic tradition, the coat of arms also honours the glove maker's shears, while the tree symbolises transmission, a value that has been at the heart of the House since its origins.

At the foot of the shield, a scroll bears the motto created for Causse: Ex manu elegantia. This Latin expression, meaning literally "From the hand comes elegance" – or, more freely, "Elegance is born from the hand" – celebrates the artisanal gesture at the very heart of the House's savoir-faire.

The art of personalisation

As an extension of this tribute to craftsmanship and creation, Lauren Easum and Igor Telinge visited the Causse boutique on Rue Cambon in Paris to create a bespoke pair of driving gloves for Igor. From selecting the leather and colour to choosing the crochet detailing, every element was carefully considered to create a unique piece reflecting its owner's personality.
